We Keep Returning to this house
We just spent our third summer in this house. I have been coming to Truro every summer for 25 years and this house is my favorite by a landslide. It feels like home, and the owner Jil is so lovely and accommodating, and over the years she has become a friend. The view is spectacular and the beach is very unpopulated. Every passerby on the beach says hello and the happy dogs running by make you smile. The bay side is perfect for kayaking or paddle boards. If you walk south on the beach there is perfect clamming by Corn Hill. If you walk north, there are perfect lobster rolls at Days Market (we walk a lot). The house is also a 5 minute drive to great ocean side beaches for waves and boogie boarding, and a 15 minute drive to the excitement in Provincetown.

An Amazing Week in an Unforgettable Place
My family and I spent a week in August at Jil's incredible home in North Truro. I spent my childhood on the Cape and have vacationed there many times as an adult. I thought I knew it well. But the bay side of North Truro was unlike any of my past experiences. I was used to the crowded beaches and traffic jams that are frequent in the upper Cape towns.
It's hard to believe that North Truro still exists! Miles of wide, unspoiled beach – often completely empty. At no time during our stay were there other beachgoers within 50 yards! The area is beautiful, with a spectacular mix of old and newer homes built high atop a cliff facing Cape Cod Bay. The tide is always calm and the sunsets are spectacular. A limited number of public access points creates the feeling of a secluded seaside resort.
Jil's home is exactly what you'd expect of a traditional Cape Cod cottage. It's comfortable and homey, but with all the modern conveniences and some of the best views on the Cape. From the upper level you can see the curve of the Cape all the way to Provincetown. We enjoyed our daily walks to the Salty Market for coffee and supplies and dinners at the nearby restaurants. And Provincetown, with all its activity, restaurants, and nightlife is just a short drive away. North Truro is perfect for busy families looking to reconnect in a quiet setting that offers all the best of Cape Cod. Jil is a gracious host who supplied us with all the information needed to make the most of our week. Her local knowledge and suggestions for places to visit and things to do provided just the right balance of relaxation and family fun.
We're excited to return and feel there's no place left on the Cape that equals North Truro and this home.

Charming and Unique
The space is incredibly charming, with beautiful views of the ocean. Many personal touches, such as original artwork. The beach is quiet and secluded.

Amazing!
This house is fantastic. It is a Sear Kit House and just reminds me so much of what true summer homes used to be like. We came with three of our adult children and had a great time. The beach is never ever crowded. I would take a walk every morning on the beach and only pass one or two people at the most. The house was very clean and well laid out. I like the way the kitchen is open to the sitting and dining area so everyone could be together and talk while dinner was being prepared. There are also plenty of places to eat out nearby for the nights when you do not feel like cooking. Overall the location cannot be beat and the house was perfect. Jil is super friendly and very responsive to questions. I highly recommend this cottage.

Incredible views, lovely cottage, perfect location
his is such a special cottage with a wonderful host. It has a nostalgic and cozy feeling with all the amenities you'll need for an incredible week. We absolutely loved the location perched up on the bluff, overlooking the water, and spent every day enjoying the private and well-maintained beach. Jil was a thoughtful and warm host who clearly takes a lot of pride in her property. Can't wait to return!

Sears House in Truro, Ma
We have stayed in the Sears House in Truro, MA, for over 20 years. We return each summer because we love staying in the house and we love Truro. The house is a comfortable home that sits on top of the bluff overlooking Cape Cod Bay. The location can not be better. From the deck, you can see Provincetown and the tip of the Cape to your right, Wellfleet to your left, and on a clear day the hills of Plymouth in the distance. It is a soul touching spot. Even on a bad weather day, you are still at the beach. Oh, and there are sets of steps (quite a few) that lead down to a private beach. It is quiet and private there, but in only 15 minutes, you can get into PTown to experience the restaurants, theater, and nightlife. We are always happy when we are at the Sears House!
